Visarjan of Lord Ganesh at GEC '09

It was the last day..... all the countless emotions and those sleepless nights, the fun we had during those sleepless hours and hard work that we hard put into welcoming Lord Ganesh seemed to be well worth it....

The first thing to take place on the last day was the declaration of the results of the rangoli competion by Nitesh Sir and Maya Maam.

Altogether there were six rangoli that were six rangolis that were vying for the first place. Five of them were in competition untill the last one was put down...

The last one put down by BE Comp blew away the competition into pieces. And i must say that it was a fair result.

Later in the afternoon we purchsed all the eye pleasing fireworks that we could from Ponda from our budget of 16K. These included 250 shots,132 shots,25shots,25 vforce shots and many more..............

There arti's were played for an hour or so and were sang with full vigor and energy. Gauresh(SE Civil) was at his best whose enthusiasm made many people follow suit. Pranav(SE Civil) also played the pakwad with great passion.Gautam(TE Mech) and Gauresh(SE Civil) also played the ghumut really well. The arti's were played so loud that we could here the music in the TE COMP/IT lecture halls

The day preceded with faculties and students seeking Lord Ganesh's blessings.

The LS and the LR's and also their friend's played their part in helping to prepare the final prasad.

The Last arti was attended by many students. Infact there were so many of them that many were left stranded outside as there was no place for them to sit. This was for the first time that so many of them had gathered on the final day ever.....

The crowd even grew further when the idol was being taken for emersion. The vehicle for carrying the idol was beautifully decorated.

When the idol reached the main entranceof GEC the fireworks that went off were spectacular with the crowd having their heads tilted towards the sky. This continued untill it reached it final immersion spot.

When the vechile carrying the idol reached the end of the nageshi slope then could you actually make out how large the crowd was. Infact even the professor's who accompanied us were surprised to see so many of them.

Finally the last rituals were carried out at 10:15pm and the idol was immersed at 10:30 by Pranav,P.P. Deepak and Swadesh into the pond at nageshi.
